Rackmount PC cases have never been sexy. They're usually ugly, hot, loud and cheaply built. Rackmounts have been so un-loveable they're usually shut away in a separate server room.
RAK is different. It's meant to be seen, but not heard. It's ideal for home theater equipment racks, audio engineering racks, and small businesses where workers and workstations must coexist. Designed to cool the fastest multi-core CPUs on the planet, as well as look right at home next to the highest end audio components, RAK is a unique product.
The faceplate is 4 millimeter thick extruded aluminum, anodized a rich black and bead-blasted to resist fingerprints. It's a look that will hold its own in a rack with the highest end home theater components. But form must follow function. The extensive wrap-around venting allows for voluminous air intake. And beneath this beauty lies the most beastly fully-sealed CPU liquid cooling system ever fit into a 4U rackmount.
"This Falcon Northwest system is such a nice workstation that it makes me think I’ve been doing it wrong for many years."
- Wendell Wilson, Level1Techs
Cooling in rackmounts has always been an engineering challenge. The 4U height standard limits what can physically fit. But some of our clients need to run 64-core, 128-thread CPUs that burn incredible amounts of power.
So we equipped RAK with the largest CPU liquid cooling system ever put into a 4U. Twin 140mm German-made fans feed the same 280mm liquid cooling used in our Talon mid-tower systems. Cooled liquid flows into our custom oversized rectangular copper coldplate to keep even the largest multi-core CPUs running cool.
"a rackmount workstation faster than all of the single socket workstations that you would get from a Lenovo, Dell or HP because it’s just tuned that much better. If you need the fastest workstation available, this is your option."
- ServeTheHome
RAK's 19" depth means it can hold the largest Extended ATX motherboards made, or even quad cooling fans for noise suppression (or even more cooling). It supports huge power supplies, 3-slot thick or multiple graphics cards, optical drives and 4 or 8 upfront SATA SSD bays (optional) as well as a 9th internal 2.5" drive bay. RAK has the highest loadout capability in our lineup.
Many PC makers can build a powerful PC. Few PC makers can build an extremely quiet PC. A powerful and extremely quiet PC? Now that's truly rare.
Whether you just want to add big-screen PC gaming capability to your home theater, or you're an audio professional that needs a workstation that won't intrude on your recordings, we can configure RAK for powerful silence. Using extra low-speed cooling fans, special power supplies that can handle 700+ Watt loading while remaining nearly silent, and extra acoustic tuning done by hand, the home theater configurations of the RAK deliver a level of CPU and GPU power you have to (barely) hear to believe.
Do you have a more traditional server rack environment in mind? If you don't need to worry about acoustics, we can crank the cooling to 11 and configure RAKs for ludicrous speed.
RAK can be used without an equipment rack. The optional acoustic isolation feet can be added for use on a shelf or home theater hutch (mind the RAK's 19" depth plus some room for cables). The audiophile-grade high density rubber feet minimize vibration transfer to your shelf. They're adhesive and can be removed at any time if you decide to rack the RAK later.

The Falcon logo on RAK's front is a fully dimmable RGB. Controlled via software, colors from solid to rainbow, dim to bright are possible. Home Theater/Quiet configurations include a dimming filter for barely-there lighting needed for dark theaters. The lit logo can also be replaced with silver, gold, or copper metallic inserts available on our configurer.

Designed to cool the highest wattage, highest threadcount, physically largest rectangular CPUs made, our massive coldplate and 280mm radiator is overkill for CPUs less than 64 cores. But we figure you won't mind if your CPU runs cooler and faster than needed?
