The new Intel Core i7-875K processor is the first mid-level priced CPU intel has made with overclocking in mind.  So it was the perfect fit for our cost-conscious Talon line.  Here we showed PC Mag what our liquid cooling and overclocking expertise could do with this new CPU.

Six Core Mach V in Lotus Orange

Uniquely among PC manufacturers, Falcon Northwest hasn't changed its style or approach much over the years.

"The difference is they get faster - much faster - every time.  And once again, the Mach V does not disappoint in the benchmarks."

The first Mach V with the new Intel "Gulftown" six-core CPU wins Editor's Choice

This configurable six-core PC is a hyper-speed performance machine, with a glitzy paint job that makes it look as good as it cooks.

"No matter which way you approach it, Falcon Northwest’s Mach V, with its Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition CPU, is a competently built, insanely powerful cutting-edge PC in the configuration we looked at. You can add or remove components to your own needs or desires. But one thing's for sure: The six-core CPU is here to stay"

What does spending more on a Gaming PC get you?

If money is no object and you want a machine that looks nicer than a Ferrari, Falcon Northwest is the trend setter.

This Associated Press story by Ron Harris ran in scores of publications including USA Today, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, NY Post, Miami Herald, and many others.

In my tests, Falcon Northwest delivers the best machines when price is no object."

A "QuadFire" Talon sneaks up on the competition

Even more amazing, the Talon could hold its own against machines that are almost twice as pricey, while being incredibly quiet.

One of the first systems to offer the new ATI Radeon 5970 dual-GPU graphics cards, this system Maximum PC reviewed had two of them under the hood. That's right - 4 GPUs in a "QuadFire" configuration! An incredible amount of firepower, but we decided to let the GPUs do the fighting against a $9,000 system they'd just reviewed... so we put them in our cost-conscious Talon. The result? About 90% of the speed for 50% of the price. And the Talon is quieter, runs colder, and is better looking to boot!  Verdict: 9/10 and the Maximum PC "KickAss" product award!

    The New Talon

The Falcon Northwest Talon achieves its goal of offering a faster upper-mainstream gaming PC for less.

The good: Fast, overclockable, and power-efficient new Intel Core i7 CPU; performs in the same neighborhood as PCs that cost $500 more; will play any game on the market at almost any image-quality setting; strong new case with some clever features.
The bad: Limited room for expansion.

FragBox Core i7 wins the "KickAss" award!

Faster than big, bad gaming desktops and almost fits under an airplane seat.

You know when a little person shows up in a Ben Stiller movie he's gonna whoop some ass. Sometimes that's not just a comedy film cliche. Take for example, Falcon Northwest's size-challenged FragBox...

    Core i7 Mach V hands-on

We sincerely hope you appreciate the backbreaking, soulcrushingly hard work we do for you

Based on our dozen or so hours of grueling, utterly boring hands-on tests, all three games were plenty playable maxed out at 1920 x 1080 resolution with 4x anti-aliasing -- only Crysis ever dipped below 40 frames per second, and we never saw Fallout 3 under 60.

    Three high-end gaming systems compared

Tom's pitted the Falcon Mach V against an HP Blackbird, and an 8-core "Skulltrail" system by Vigor.

While these were all multi-GPU systems built with gamers in mind, Tom's also put them through a battery of multimedia applications and synthetic tests. How'd we do?  Check out the full review link, or cut to their summary graph of all their tests averaged.
