Years in development and testing, the ICON2 is the pinnacle of production computer cases.
Exclusively for our Mach V class systems, it was designed from the ground up for cold, quiet beauty.

The Look
On the outside, it's a monolith of understated elegance in black brushed aluminum. Its seamless front panel features only a softly glowing white Falcon logo, which can also be swapped with a gold, silver or copper metal insert if you prefer. The ICON2 is perfect in black, or it can be used as a canvas for any custom paint color or artwork you can imagine. Use our gallery of past paintwork for a starting point to envision your own work of art.
Form Follows Function
The ICON2's exterior form followed behind its engineering function, which is to cool internal components as efficiently and quietly as possible. Today's high-speed PC components generate a large amount of waste heat when running full speed, and even more when overclocked. Inside the ICON2, we rotated the standard motherboard orientation 90 degrees to take advantage of a law of nature: heat rises. The vertically oriented airflow system channels cool air in from the bottom of the case and exhausts waste heat out of the top. This concept is simple, but managing fluid dynamics in a complex system isn't quite so easy. Proper execution of the vertical flow concept took years of design, prototyping and careful thermal analysis. Our thermal imaging allowed us to see exactly where heat is being generated and where it's transferring in the system.![]()
Zone-Based Cooling
Three separate main airflow chambers isolate the hottest PC subsystems (CPU, graphics cards and power supply) from each other. Each zone is fed its own cold air entry point and has a hot air exhaust to the outside to keep one area from passing exhaust heat into the intake of another.
Graphics Cooling
A massive 180 millimeter dual-speed fan provides dedicated airflow to the graphics cards. At low speed it can easily cool one or two graphics cards at a very low noise level. At its higher speed it can even cool the fastest triple SLI and Crossfire setups with a minimal increase in fan noise. A specialized air divider not only keeps the 180mm fans' air dedicated to the graphics cards, its gentle sweep creates laminar airflow to the backside of the primary card. This greatly aids GPU cooling while isolating them from the heat of the voltage regulators. A custom graphics card retention system keeps longer graphics cards from being damaged in shipping, and is so thin it causes almost no turbulence. They are not installed unless needed to keep as much open airflow as possible.
Power Supply Isolation
While most PCs mount their power supply at the top rear of the system, this causes the power supply to intake pre-heated air from the rest of the system, raising the PSU temperature by several degrees. The ICON2's power supply is mounted at the bottom with a dedicated fresh air intake, keeping this critical subsystem running as cool as possible. A washable filter protects the intake when the tower is placed on carpet.
CPU Liquid Cooling, the Smart Way
The CPU is the component that has always benefited most from exceptional cooling, both for longevity and for overclocking headroom. Falcon has offered liquid cooled CPUs for years, but the ICON2 case takes it to the next level. Its standard CPU liquid cooling system is mounted at the lowest point in the chassis for the coldest dedicated fresh air intake, and only the coolant lines actually run up to the CPU. The coolant pump has been reduced to almost 1/3rd its previous size for less airflow obstruction and less insulation on the processor. A double-width cooling radiator provides more cooling surface, and offers the capacity to add a second CPU cooling fan. Optional fan pack upgrades allow us to further tune the CPU cooling for our clients who prefer either lower-noise or maximum overclocking configurations.
Voltage Regulator and Chipset Cooling
One of the challenges in liquid cooled systems has always been getting enough airflow to the voltage regulators and chipsets. Often motherboards have employed tiny (40-60 millimeter), high RPM fans to cool the chipsets. These noisy little fans were a necessary evil. The ICON2 features an innovative solution to this problem: cooling from the backside of the motherboard with a much larger 100 millimeter fan. This fan cools the northbridge chipset, CPU and voltage regulators from a second direction, usually eliminating the need for chipset fans.
Expandability
Slide out hard drive cages make adding new drives a snap, and with custom short SATA power cables and open connections at the back of the drives, you're in control of your drive upgrades. You won't be left guessing which bay to use or which bundle of wires goes to what port on the motherboard. Most importantly, the latest SATA 6 GB/Sec drives won't risk data loss from an outdated SATA 3GB/Sec hot-swap connector.
The ICON2's expansion space is cavernous, with 6 internal hard drive bays and 5 external bays (four 5.25" and one 3.5"). You'll be hard pressed to ever run out of expansion bays. Quick locks can release any frequently swapped 5.25" bay items with the press of a button.
